JSC FC VARDAR 1947

     The first soccer ball in Macedonia was brought before the Balkan Wars.
Organized competitive play began during the Kingdom of Yugoslavia.
     Many clubs were formed in Skopje: Civic of the Craftsmen, South of the Workers, Lokomotiva, Pobeda... And the most important football team is FC Macedonia, which during the Bulgarian occupation managed to defeat the Bulgarian clubs that came from Sofia, and at the same time to promote anti-fascism.

     FC Vardar was formed in 1947, as a merger of several clubs that existed in the previous decade.
FC Vardar competes within the framework of the Yugoslav Federal Leagues, achieving its two greatest successes, winning the Marshal Tito Cup (28.05.1961)

and Champion of SFR Yugoslavia (1986/87).

     After the independence of the Republic of Macedonia, Vardar has won 11 Macedonian Champion titles, and has also been the winner of the Macedonian Cup 5 times.

     Among the performances on the international stage, the matches with FC Porto, FC Malmo, FC Copenhagen, FC Fenerbahçe, FC Zenit, FC Real Sociedad... remain memorable.
